Ok…so I’m a little behind.
November 20, 2011
Ok, so I’m a little behind on blogging. This fall has been a busy shooting season and it’s still going strong. THANK YOU to all of my wonderful clients, I truly appreciate your business! This time of year seems to be such a hectic time for everyone. And….with the holidays around the corner, things won’t quiet down until January for most of us. I’m excited to share lots of the images I’ve been shooting, so stay tuned. In the meantime, here are a couple of images from yesterday’s wedding. Happy Thanksgiving to ALL!

Aimee and John
October 18, 2011
Aimee is the third daughter in her family to get married and I photographed her sister’s weddings too. The Meinzen’s are definitely a special family! Aimee and John and their friends and family shared a beautiful day together but also a hot one, no one ever complained about the heat! Aimee was traveling in Scotland several years ago and saw a wedding dress in a window that she fell in love with…..jump forward a few years…….and she met John and was engaged. She remembered the dress she saw while she was traveling in Scotland and was able to track it down…she said “that dress was meant to be!” Her mom made the wedding cake for her special day, the design and detail on the cake replicated her wedding dress and it was exquisite! I love the story of how Aimee’s parents met, so I”m going to share it, her grandparents were missionaries in India and Aimee’s mom and dad were both just babies when they traveled from the US to India. Both of her parents ended up in the same class at boarding school in southern India and they started dating there the last six weeks of high school. For years, her mom and dad have owned an Indian restaurant called Rasoi in the Central West End and one of my favorite places to eat!
Sara & Ryan
October 1, 2011
Sweet, sweet, sweet, sums up this wedding! It was an unusually cool August day, so it couldn’t have been nicer for an outdoor wedding. Sara and I bonded over our mutual love for running in Forest Park. They were married under a gigantic oak tree near The Grand Basin. It was truly one of the sweetest (yes, I’m using that word again), most sincere ceremonies I’ve ever photographed. Then, we headed to The Spink Pavilion at The Botanical Garden for the reception. I was so excited about her hot pink shoes and she made walking around in them look effortless. Sara’s sister made the cupcakes and deserts, as my assistant and I were leaving the reception, Sara’s mom said, “make sure you have a cupcake,” I said “I did, in fact, I had two!” We laughed because we knew they were the best cupcakes ever. Photographing their day was an absolute pleasure!

Art Hill 9/11 Tribute
September 12, 2011
Thanks to Rick Randall, this is a beautiful tribute to all those who lost their lives on 9/11. Each flag has a name, age, and picture attached to the pole. I think it’s supposed to be up all week. Make sure you schedule time this week to stop by and see it. And….don’t just drive by, get out and walk through all the flags, pack a picnic and take your kids. All of the flags were incredibly still tonight, I’m hoping to go back later this week when the wind is blowing and capture a different perspective.
Fin
August 22, 2011
I’m in love with this little guy. This is one of my best friends son. We were getting ready to go to dinner this last Friday night and Fin climbed up on the couch and started chewing on his little lamb’s ear. I quickly grabbed my camera and shot off about 5 frames…..the last frame was the one….when he looked right at me.
Hamoa Beach, Maui
August 19, 2011
This image has been sitting on my desktop for several months now and I’ve been meaning to post it to my blog, so here it is. It’s a photo of my brother-in-law heading out to body surf. The waves were huge and wonderful. This beach is located at the end of the road to Hana. I boogie boarded at this beach and caught the most perfect wave….timing is so important! It’s such a huge rush when you finally catch a wave and ride the top of it all the way in to shore. It gave me a glimpse of why surfers go out day after day just to catch that ride of a lifetime.
Laura and Mike
August 15, 2011
I love this couple! This wasn’t their wedding day….I actually didm’t photograph their wedding but they called me to do a portrait session with just the two of them. They were so relaxed and photographing a “bride and groom” not on their wedding day is such a different experience. Laura laid in the grass for me, which turned out to be one of my favorite photos. I also wore shorts and tennis shoes to the shoot…..bonus! I’m thinking I like this setup….it’s a lot less stressful. This was a year after their wedding and Laura told me that she didn’t eat carbs for 3 weeks leading up to the shoot, her dress fit perfectly but she was super excited for her dinner plans after we finished.
